Version 1.0.1 (build 32)

TapScribe launch release.

Launch release

Version 1.0.1 marks TapScribe’s launch release. This build introduces no new features or behaviour changes from 0.9.2 (31).

It includes local meeting recording and English transcription, the native recording library, audio/video import and Workflow transcript export, with the existing Settings and playback accessibility improvements.

Requirements

Apple Silicon Mac, macOS 15 or later. Existing recordings, transcripts, downloaded models, settings and licence are retained when updating.

Version 0.9.2 (build 31)

Keep Settings headings readable while scrolling.

Improvement

Settings page headings now have an opaque system background, so form content does not show through them while scrolling in Light or Dark appearance.

This includes build 30’s stable playback controls, native Settings arrow navigation and clearer playback accessibility names.

Requirements

Apple Silicon Mac, macOS 15 or later, English transcription. Existing recordings, transcripts, downloaded models, settings and licence should be preserved after updating.

Version 0.9.2 (build 30)

Stable playback controls and improved keyboard and accessibility support.

Improvements

  • Playback controls keep their position while switching recordings with the keyboard or mouse.
  • Settings categories support native Up and Down arrow navigation.
  • Playback position and Me/Them volume controls have clearer accessibility names and values.

Requirements

Apple Silicon Mac, macOS 15 or later, English transcription. Existing recordings, transcripts, downloaded models, settings and licence should be preserved after updating.

Version 0.9.1 (build 28)

Update delivery with the improvements from build 27.

Updates

This build includes the same recording, transcription and privacy-wording improvements as build 27. Install updates from Settings → Updates; your recordings and transcripts remain in your Library.

Requirements

Apple Silicon Mac, macOS 15 or later, English transcription. The existing speech model should be reused after updating.

Version 0.9.1 (build 27)

Clearer wording about local transcription and recording storage.

Changes

  • Clarifies the menu-bar and empty-Library wording about local transcription and recording storage.
  • Includes the guided setup, weekly update defaults and Library update notice from build 26.

Requirements

Apple Silicon Mac, macOS 15 or later, English transcription. Initial setup downloads approximately 465 MB of model files.

Version 0.9.1 (build 26)

Clearer first-run setup and easier update discovery.

Improvements

  • Automatic update checks start enabled for new users, checking every seven days while TapScribe is running and idle. Existing opt-outs are preserved.
  • The final setup screen explains update checks and offers an optional Open TapScribe when I log in setting, off by default for new users.
  • An Update available notice in the Library complements the menu-bar notice. You still choose when to download and install.
  • Clearer setup guidance covers the speech-model download, microphone and Mac audio permissions, the audio check and your first recording.

Requirements

Apple Silicon Mac, macOS 15 or later, English transcription. Initial setup downloads approximately 465 MB of model files.

Known limitations

This version does not add AI summaries or identification of individual remote speakers. Me and Them distinguish your microphone from Mac audio.
